About Coach Sam:
Sam Italiano (she/her) was born and raised in Colorado. She grew up dancing various styles, but she is most grateful to have grown up in a studio that emphasized artistic expression, exploration, and the opportunity to perform on a variety of platforms. Studying with Danielle Heller, Sam’s passion for tap dance evolved and she explored the artform with the utmost enthusiasm. While attending Elon University, she studied with Gene Medler, the founder and director of the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble, growing her love of tap dance. Sam has performed as a guest artist with several companies throughout Arkansas, Minnesota, and Texas. While getting on stage and sharing her passion that way is rewarding, it is nothing like being in a classroom and learning alongside her students. She has continued to study with some of the best, fortunate to call Ellen Keane, Brenna Kuhn and the one and only Dianne Walker her mentors. She loves sharing the beautiful and complex art form of tap
